GITG Seminar Global Warming and its solution under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan

In the Seminar "Global warming and it solution" organized by Gulf International Trading Group at the Emirates Palace Hotel on the 28th August 2008, His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research & Development, stated "UAE is striding ahead in finding solutions to the effects of global warming by carrying out extensive research on sustainable projects, UAE in the forefront of providing solutions to the world and the Middle East, We should capitalize on the abundant natural source of solar energy available in this region" he stressed, "The creation of green city in Abu Dhabi and solar-powered desiltation plants are examples of how the UAE is becoming a world leader in new technology innovations", he pointed out.

His Excellency's speech was followed by a presentation on the latest technologies to tackle the issue of global Warming by Professor Ray Noble, Advisor of UK Government of Renewable Energy.

The recognition of global warming by most countries of the world has stimulated the rapid growth of solar photovoltaic, which is now one of the world's fastest growing industries. UAE now imposing the "Green sustainable building code" on all new projects and Masdar carbon neutral development GITG believes the time is right for buildings in the UAE to be constructed with BIPV materials to make them energy generators as well as users of energy.

The seminar also attracted 200+ Senior Architects representing more than 35 companies across the UAE. More than60 architects were certified, who attended the training workshops conducted by GITG and its partner Romag in June 2008
